What You’ll Own
- Volunteer retention and overall troop health across your territory
- Day-to-day support and coaching of volunteers and troop leaders
- First-year success of new volunteers
- Strength of local volunteer networks and community engagement
- Ensuring a consistent, positive experience from onboarding through long-term involvement
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers — responsive, reliable, and solutions-focused
- Build strong, trust-based relationships through regular check-ins and ongoing support
- Coach volunteers through challenges and help them navigate real-time issues
- Support new leaders through onboarding, first meetings, and early wins
- Monitor troop activity, engagement, and retention — step in early when something is off
- Identify at-risk groups and take action to stabilize and recover
- Attend community meetings, events, and volunteer gatherings to stay visible and connected
- Partner closely with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions from recruitment to placement to ongoing support
- Keep systems updated and use data to guide decisions and priorities
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years in relationship management, community engagement, education, nonprofit, or similar
- Strong people skills — you know how to build trust quickly and keep it
- Ability to coach, guide, and handle tough conversations with professionalism
- Organized and comfortable working with data, tracking activity, and managing follow-up
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar is a plus)
- Self-starter mindset — you don’t wait to be told what to do
- Comfortable being in the field, attending events, and working some evenings/weekends

- New leaders get off to a strong start and stick around
- Troops remain active, stable, and growing
- Issues are handled early — not after things fall apart
- Strong community presence and trusted relationships across your territory
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience working with volunteers, community groups, or leadership development
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the territory
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed
- Must pass background screening
