IMPRIMIS GROUP IS HIRING DISCOVERY CENTER SUPPORT STAFF FOR NON-PROFIT OPERATING IN NORTH TEXAS FOR OVER 100 YEARS!

The Discovery Center Support Staff collaborates with the Discovery Center Manager to execute the day-of simulation experience and provide training for teachers and volunteers. The supporting staff plays a crucial role in ensuring a high- quality experience for all stakeholders, including students, educators, funders, and volunteers in Garland ISD maintaining program quality and integrity.
 
This role actively leads all program simulations for students attending all program functions including, but not limited to the execution of day-of simulation experience, assisting teachers and volunteers, conducting volunteer training, and working collaboratively with other staffers. Role is part time, onsite in Garland, TX.  Hours are roughly 16-24 hours per week.

CONTRACT – SEASONAL – PART TIME | ONSITE – GARLAND, TX | $17-19/HOUR

The main function of this role is to lead simulations and presentations for all attending students. This position is critical to ensuring a quality experience for all stakeholders, including but not limited to, students, educators, funders, and volunteers in Dallas County, Garland ISD and/or Crandall ISD while upholding the program quality and integrity.  

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate simulation activities efficiently and effectively by managing processes for
assigned businesses/groups, including hands-on instruction with students.
  • Assist with training volunteers for their role within the program (i.e. presenting to large and small groups & one-on-one instruction)
  • Maintain overall instructional excellence of the program for all stakeholders (i.e. sponsors, teachers, volunteers, & students)
  • Help with the essential preparation of the capstone facility for student visits and training sessions for volunteers and teachers.
  • Support the program by aiding the manager with diverse administrative responsibilities.
  • Support special events by offering assistance as needed.
  • Collect student and volunteer surveys, assist in taking group photos and sanitize workstations
  • Tidy and organize all workstations and prepare for the next day.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum requirement: High School diploma; some college education is desirable.
  • Proven expertise in working with school-aged children (preferably 11-18 age range) within an educational setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with accommodation available for individuals using wheelchairs, ensuring inclusivity for all applicants.
  • Strong presentation skills, excels under pressure to meet deadlines, and demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, tech pro?ciency, computer literacy,
and the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Exhibits pro?cient project management and execution skills.
  • Capable of collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, con?dent, energetic, and possesses a creative mindset.
  • Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background


Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, degree preferred, 1+ years of operational and service experience working in team settings, enjoy educating others.  Must possess excellent customer service skills, solid technical skills, patience, effective communications skills, possess tact and professionalism and a desire to make a difference in the community.
