CONTRACT TO HIRE - HYBRID- $32-35/HOUR

The Data Science Analyst analyzes large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our company. This role is highly analytical, requiring a knack for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data.

The Data Science Analyst analyzes large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our company. This role builds data products to extract valuable business insights and support new ways of working while leading practices in making big data scalable through a combination of process improvement, technical skills, and ability to generate data driven insights. This role is highly analytical, requiring a knack for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data.
GENERAL DUTEIS (not limited to):
- Design and implement Power BI reports and/or other analytics per business requirements
- Take direction from manager and team lead on analytics priorities, work products delivery schedule, and other support activities
- Work with functional business users to identify business requirements, problem statements and design solutions to address
- Support ad hoc analytical builds as well as custom solution development in support of Big Data programs, as needed
- Identify valuable data sources and automate data mining processes
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Support drafting and execution of SQL queries as needed in support of data science
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and product development teams
- Document processes, as required, in support of a data science initiative
ROLE COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Software Engineering, Data Modeling, or related field
- 2+ years in a data analyst role preferred or extensive experience in academic setting
- Experience in developing analytics utilizing Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent data mining technology
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of Azure required
- Working knowledge of Python or other related program languages
- Self-starter, results-oriented, independent, inquisitive, and strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent debugging, problem solving and testing skills
- Must be willing to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation
- Willingness to work in all areas of IT as needed
- Willingness to learn new technologies in support of Data Science programs
